Mataora - Living Ocean

We are Chai (guitar) & Chaim (handpan)

The relatively new instrument called handpan melts well together with the playful melodic guitar. Our name “Mataora” means in the Maori language “life” and that is the exact translation for our personal names as well. Every song comes and goes in a flow - sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent - but always present, finding ourselves in a sea of notes riding on the sound waves. That is why we call ourselves: Mataora - Living Ocean.
 
We play dreamy, calm but also playful worldly music to uplift a space into a higher realm.
